In 2009 Jane embarked on a MA Fine Art course at De Montfort University in Leicester.
Over the two years Jane explored and interrogated different aspects of her painting practice, experimented with print, a variety of media, and found the experience both incredibly challenging and rewarding.
Her final show was based on the theme of struggle and tension, which was conveyed in the contorted, twisted ambiguous forms. Jane wanted the viewer to feel the awkwardness and find the paintings brutal and emotional. She hopes she achieved this.
During the course Jane gave several presentations, wrote a critical dissertation, exhibited in two in-house shows and was involved in independent exhibitions across the region.
A selection of the paintings Jane did during her MA can be found in the 2009-10(MA) gallery.
